Degree

Chemistry is often called the central science because it connects the physical, biological, and engineering sciences. If you enjoy solving problems, understanding how the world works, and discovering new possibilities through scientific investigation, chemistry may be the major for you.

At LeTourneau University, chemistry students gain extensive hands-on laboratory experience and opportunities to participate in faculty-mentored undergraduate research. Small class sizes and close faculty interaction help students develop the technical, analytical, and communication skills valued by employers and graduate programs.

The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry provides a strong foundation for careers in industry, research, education, and professional programs. Students develop expertise in chemical principles, laboratory techniques, data analysis, and problem solving while preparing for a wide range of scientific and technical opportunities.

Chemists contribute to fields ranging from materials and energy to pharmaceuticals, environmental science, manufacturing, and research and development. Their work helps address challenges in human health, technology, sustainability, and innovation.
