Admission Deadlines

LeTourneau University requires all international exchange students to submit their applications with all necessary documentation and their deposits by the following deadlines:

Fall Admission (semester starts in August)

Spring Admission (semester starts in January)

You must submit two academic references completed by a university professor or advisor who is a non-relative.

To submit your academic references, fill out the Academic References Form with two different academic references and email both forms to your International Admissions officer (see below).

The Exchange/Study Abroad Coordinator at your university must submit your official transcript to your International Admissions officer by email (see below). The transcript must be in English.

If English is not your first language, you must demonstrate English proficiency or enroll in the English as a Second Language (ESL) program for admission to LeTourneau University. Please note that there is not a beginner level in the LETU ESL program.

LETU's TOEFL school code is 6653.

LeTourneau University offers an ESL program for students who have already achieved an English proficiency level ranging from low intermediate to advanced. Students may enroll for 6 hours per semester. Students who score below the minimum for ESL-exempt admission on their English proficiency test must enroll in this ESL program. Students must enter the program with a working knowledge of English due to the fact that these classes are designed to prepare students for university-level courses and degree completion at LeTourneau University.

If students do not meet one of the above ESL-exempt admission standards, they may instead complete an advanced English as Second Language program, such as ELS Level 109 or ECI Level 304. Completion of one of these programs satisfies English proficiency requirements and exempts students from the mandated LETU ESL program.

The I-20 Form, necessary for securing a student visa to enter the U.S., will be sent to you only after admissions to LeTourneau University and proof of financial resources have been established.

According to I-20 guidelines, you must demonstrate that you will be able to afford an education at LETU through bank statements and pay the $150 housing deposit and $100 tuition deposit. To establish proof to financial resources, please have your bank send a copy of your bank statement to your International Admissions officer (see below).

On your I-20, the total cost of attendance will include the current cost of room and board and insurance. More detailed information about room and board and other fees can be found at On-Campus Tuition & Fees.

In addition to these documents, please submit a copy of your passport picture page via email to your International Admissions officer (see below).
