SCHEDULE:

The position is for nine months with the possibility of summer school teaching. Classes and other responsibilities are conducted primarily weekdays but could include some evening classes and independent studies. Attendance will also be required at some evening and weekend events.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

LeTourneau University, a vibrant and growing interdenominational, evangelical Christian university, known for high-quality STEM programs that attract students of outstanding academic ability, invites applications and nominations for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Exercise Science, Department of Kinesiology. This is a tenure-track position, with rank negotiable based on experience. This faculty member will teach a range of kinesiology courses with an emphasis on exercise science at the undergraduate and graduate level. The ideal candidate should have excellent team-building skills and the interest and experience to provide growth to the Department of Kinesiology. Research and teaching experience are highly desired.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach a wide variety of Exercise Science courses across the curriculum from freshman to senior level with a four course (12 credit hour) load per Fall and Spring semester.
  • Participate actively in the university learning community by serving on department, school, and/or university committees and special service assignments.
  • Participate in student advising, success, and retention programs.
  • Maintain a commitment to academic scholarship in the field of expertise.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An earned doctorate in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Physical Therapy, or a closely related field by the time of appointment from an accredited university
  • Expertise in areas such as human performance, biomechanics, clinical exercise testing, or physical therapy
  • Record of peer-reviewed publications, grant activity, or competitive fellowships
  • Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration, curriculum development, and program assessment
  • Success in student-focused advising or leadership roles
